VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
All chapter work is done by volunteers for whom we are very grateful. If you are interested in volunteering in something other than the opportunities listed below, please contact Kathleen Snyder ksnyder75@nullgmail.com.
COFFEE CONNOISSEUR: I know there must be someone out there who would love to conduct a coffee investigation. We need to know where folks can purchase shade-grown coffee. Plantations that grow coffee under a shade canopy of native trees, shrubs, and plants provide critical refuge for migratory and local birds of the tropical forests of the Americas. We would like to publicize where such products can be purchased. Kathleen Snyder ksnyder75@nullgmail.com.
BLUEBIRD PROJECT VOLUNTEERS: Please see the accompanying Echo article on our bluebird project and the type of volunteers needed. Kathleen Snyder ksnyder75@nullgmail.com
VOLUNTEER SCHEDULER: As mentioned in the accompanying Echo article, we are looking for volunteers to participate in bird walks with 3rd graders during April. We also need someone with good organizational skills to be in charge of scheduling these volunteers. If you have skills in this area, this would be a great opportunity to get to know others in our group as well as making an impact on tomorrow’s conservationists. PHOTOGRAPHERS: BHAS has a photo gallery on our website and an Instagram account (Blackhills352). We would love to add new bird photographs to these platforms. Please contact Quentin Phillips at qmp932@nullhotmail.com. He will give you the parameters for what we can use.
