Protecting Rare Prairie Habitat: West Rocky Prairie
We manage the monitoring of the water level and reproduction of the Oregon Spotted Frog in this 810-acre WDFW parcel adjacent to gravel mining. This work is done in partnership with other conservation organizations and with state agencies. Black Hills supports WDFW efforts to acquire an adjacent parcel, now owned by the Port of Tacoma. Funds have been approved toward this purchase from the WA Wildlife and Recreation Fund and USF&W grants.
