SATURDAY MAY 13TH
10 AM – 3 PM
SPECIAL BIRD WALK 7:30 AM
One of our favorite days of the year is coming up soon – Prairie Appreciation Day. It is the one day of the year when the public is invited to Glacial Heritage Preserve which is owned by Thurston County. The wildflowers are spectacular and the bluebirds are nesting along with swallows, sparrows, osprey, and others. It is wonderful!
Black Hills Audubon will be there to help. We will sponsor a bird walk at 7:30 am and man a table during the main event. Please come by to say hello. Also, any of the bluebird nest boxes you see are now being maintained and monitored by BHAS volunteers. For the field trip, go to the gate to Glacial Heritage where someone will show you where to park. Directions to the Preserve can be found on the website below.
