Each year in May and in October thousands of people around the world count birds and post their bird checklists on eBird as part of a birding Big Day. October 12 is this year’s October Big Day. Big Day is a worldwide citizen science program sponsored by CornellLab. Last October, 36,000 people in 191 countries submitted 83,735 checklists.
To participate in October Big Day, all birders need to have is an eBird account. eBird is a worldwide checklist program used by millions of birders.
