- The Board had a lengthy discussion around the postponement of our annual dinner due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The months of July or September seem the best options for re-scheduling. The Annual Dinner Committee will look for the best solution. All of the registrants have been notified of the postponement.
- Cancelling other BHAS events were discussed and preliminary guidelines were drawn up.
- The Board would like the Hospitality Committee to use shade-grown coffee and compostable utensils at BHAS events with signage to that effect.
- An Ad Hoc Committee was formed to bring ideas back to the Board for a new major project.
- By-law changes were firmed up and will be presented to BHAS members at the May membership meeting.
- A report was given on the status of the Olympia Youth Audubon Society, including a new permission form.
- The Avian Science Coordinator reported on the project to modify, clean, and monitor swallow nest boxes on the McLane School Trail. A group of five volunteers will start on this in March to get ready for the arriving swallows.
- A decision was made to replace our old laptop and software package.
