- The BHAS webmaster, Jim Wilson, will be moving out of the state and relinquishing his duties in the end of February. Not only did Jim maintain and improve our website but he was also responsible for publishing our monthly eEcho. Deb Nickerson, Communications Chair, told the Board how complicated and technical these jobs are. Her recommendation is that we contract out with a web design firm to take this over. The Board approved and Deb will make the arrangements.
- Deb also reported that our Facebook traffic has increased almost 30% in the 8 months that Mark DeLaurier has been the administrator.
- Deb will be stepping down as Communications Chair when she retires in June.
- The Board has been approached by an Evergreen student looking for a summer internship. Although we are not in the position to provide that now, we will keep this possibility in mind for future projects.
- Board members and committee chairs will be asked to report their volunteer hours monthly to the Volunteer Coordinators. Hopefully this will result in a more accurate tally of volunteer efforts.
- The Board worked on revising our By-laws to better reflect actual practices. These changes will be voted on at our Membership Meeting in May.
- The Board also approved the recipients of the Jack Davis Conservationist of the Year Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award.
