Western Washington’s Spring Shorebirds – Zoom Class

Every April and May, thousands upon thousands of shorebirds arrive along the Washington Coast during their spring migration. This class will teach you to identify those shorebirds (as well as the resident shorebirds who will be on the beaches at the same time). In addition, specific information as to where the birds can be found will be provided: many of the species have very limited stopover points, and most prefer a certain type of coastline, i.e. rocky, sandy, muddy. This course should give you the knowledge to move beyond saying “well, I think it’s a sandpiper of some sort”!  This is one class with two sessions covering different birds at each.
