Climate Change in Mount Rainier NP – Taylor Kenyon & Scott Beason

September 12, 2019 @ 7:00 pm-9:00 pm

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Come join us for an evening of enjoyment with Taylor Kenyon and Scott Beason. Taylor Kenyon and Scott Beason work in the Geology section at Mount Rainier National Park.  Their talk will focus on how the Park is planning management of infrastructure (i.e. roads, trails, structures, and other facilities) as climate change alters precipitation patterns and stream flow.  Rain-on-snow events in past years have caused dramatic, sometimes catastrophic, damage to roads, trails, and campgrounds.  It is likely that precipitation and snowpack conditions will change and incur more frequent problems.

Arrive at 7 p.m. to socialize; programs begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
