Birding Trip to Squaxin Park

Meeting Place: We will meet in the parking lot just off of East Bay Drive Northeast, near the Ellis Cove Trailhead. Look for folks with binoculars.
Description: This 1.5 mile walk offers great views of Ellis Cove and Budd Inlet as you make your way through lush forest. Opportunities to view and hear overwintering forest birds are plentiful within the park. We will walk at a leisurely pace, though you can expect some gentle hills. Trails are mostly sheltered by the tall trees, but some spots may be muddy. Dress appropriately for the conditions.
What to bring: Dress for cold and possibly rainy conditions.
Binoculars, if you have them, will be useful for better viewing of birds (Lin will have a couple of loaner pairs). It is advisable to bring a backpack or satchel to hold water, light snacks, and any field guides you choose to bring.
