Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

June 26, 2021 @ 8:00 am-11:00 am

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Join us for the first BHAS-sponsored field trip in over a year!

This trip to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is primarily for beginning and intermediate birders.

In light of COVID-19, we will follow strict guidelines, which are listed on the liability form at: https://blackhills-audubon.org/black-hills-field-trip-liability-form/. We will explore the diverse habitats of our nearby National Wildlife Refuge – wetlands, ponds, estuary, and woodlands, where we will look and listen for thrushes, swallows, warblers, wrens, woodpeckers, and water birds. The boardwalk and service road loop is less than a mile.

Bring water, snacks, and binoculars. Due to COVID, the outing is limited to 12 including the leaders, Sam Merrill and Jen DeSelle, and we will divide into two smaller groups of six each. To register, email Sam Merrill at SamMerrill3@nullcomcast.net.

Those registered should meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Visitor Center overlook of the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge (100 Brown Farm Rd. N.E., Olympia).
