Please consider signing a petition supporting implementation of the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan. Thurston Climate Action Team is strongly behind this plan and is circulating a petition to the County Commissioners and to the city councils of Olympia, Tumwater, and Lacey to support implementation of the plan that each of these jurisdictions has already committed to in principle.
Implementation involves a list of specific actions that can be taken by governments, individuals and business to carry out the commitment in the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan; namely, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Thurston County by 50% by 2030 and by 85% by 2050.
We are asking members of Black Hills Audubon to consider signing the petition and to get friends and family to do so as well. Since this is simply a request to our government leaders, any resident of Thurston County can sign.
