In March, a wonderful group met via Zoom to engage in a thorough, thought-provoking discussion about various topics presented in Jennifer Ackerman’s book, “The Bird Way: A New Look at How Birds Talk, Work, Play, Parent, and Think”. Much was learned that night!
Next Book Club Meeting! Wednesday, May 17th Squaxin Park Rose Garden 6 pm
Our next book will be “The Falcon Thief: A True Tale of Adventure, Treachery, and the Hunt for the Perfect Bird”, by Joshua Hammer. This book is a true-crime story of a wild raptor smuggler and the detective who was determined to stop him and save these endangered birds of prey. The book is written with plenty of historical details to set the stage and help the reader understand this lesser-known form of wildlife trafficking, as well as the people involved in it.
This time, we plan on meeting outside! On May 17th at 6:00 PM, we will be meeting at Squaxin Park (formerly Priest Point Park) near the Rose Garden shelter to discuss “The Falcon Thief”.
Email Carla at cjm1226@nullcomcast.net to let us know you’ll be there.
Happy reading!
