Along with the election of Board members at the May 13 program meeting, we will vote on revisions to the chapter bylaws. Short bios of candidates running for board office and the final draft bylaws approved by the board are posted on the BHAS website for your review.
To summarize, the proposed revisions to the bylaws will:
-Simplify membership definition.
-Remove reference to printed newsletter subscription.
-Require board members to be chapter members.
-Change board email votes, requiring two-thirds affirmative to pass.
-Change name of Ways and Means to Finance Committee.
-Add duties of Finance Committee to include investment recommendations and quarterly review of chapter financial records.
-Require that non-budgeted expenditures greater than $100 or expenditures that exceed 10% of a fiscal year budget category be approved by the board.
-Also make a few minor, non-substantive wording changes.
