Winter Twig Identification Walk
February 1 @ 10:00 am-12:30 pm
Join forester Theodore Thomas and biologist Marian Bailey to learn the secrets for identifying our native trees and shrubs in Winter. This popular field class will increase your appreciation of the beautiful intricacies of bare twigs and beauty of the LBA Woods before leaves appear.
This is a great class for the beginning botanist, the curious naturalist, and for volunteer park stewards interested in improving their plant identification skills for restoration activities.
This class is FREE and open to all. Group size will be limited to 15 participants. All participants will receive Winter in the Woods identification booklet, a full plant list and descriptions.
We will meet at the picnic shelter in LBA Park at the dead-end of Amhurst St. (near the tennis courts/restrooms) and walk into the woods from there.
Please dress for the weather. This event is rain or shine and will be cancelled only if high-wind conditions or icy roads are present.
Please RSVP by January 29 to Jennifer Gessley-Gayman of Olympia Parks Stewardship
