Field Trip to KGY Point
Date and Time: Saturday, August 17th from 7:30 – 9:30 AM
Trip Leader: Lin Stern
Description and Targets: This flat, 1.5 mile route will be a great opportunity to view the birds of Budd Inlet. Surf Scoters and a variety of cormorants can be seen on the water, and gulls often congregate on the shore and docks. At low tide, gulls and shorebirds forage on the rocky shore.
Meeting Place: In front of the KGY Radio Station. You may park in the parking lot in front of Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill.
Trail Information: We will start the near the radio station and work our way along the trail past the marina. If folks are feeling up to it, we can also cross the road to view the nearby pond.
