Point No Point: Birding Kitsap County
February 22, 2020
Let’s go a little farther afield this month. Point No Point is a Kitsap County park on the northeastern tip of Kitsap Peninsula. It is a well-known birding spot, complete with lighthouse and a species list of 278. Kyle Leader, a native to the area and an amazing young birder, will lead us in exploring the shoreline, The Nature Conservancy’s Foul Weather Bluff Preserve, and Buck Lake. The drive there will be about 1.5 hours; we’ll carpool, departing at 7 am from the Martin Way Park and Ride, and returning late afternoon. Trip is limited to 16 participants. Registration required with Kathleen Snyder ksnyder75@nullgmail.com or 425-971-8021. Please indicate if you can drive. Bring sack lunch, clothing for chilly waterfront, money to cover gas and bridge toll, and scope if available.
