Darlin Creek

April 22, 2018 @ 8:30 am-11:00 am

This beautiful property was conserved by Capitol Land Trust in 2016 and is comprised of 312 acres, protecting hundreds of acres of healthy forest, 70 acres of diverse wetland habitat, Lake Lucinda, and two miles of streams. Expect to spend at least a couple of hours at the preserve. As always, dress for the weather; bring your favorite spotting equipment; and please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes as some of the paths and road can be uneven and muddy.

To get to the Preserve from Olympia/Tumwater, head south on I-5. Take Exit 99 for WA 121 S/93rd Ave. Turn right on 93rd Ave SW, go for 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Littlerock Rd SW, go for ~2 miles. Turn right onto 110th Ave SW, drive for 1 mile. Turn right onto Delphi Road SW, go for 3.4 miles. Turn left onto Waddel Creed Rd SW, and go ~0.6 miles. Take the first left onto Lake Lucinda Dr SW. (If you see 86th Ln SW on your right, you have gone too far.) Go ~0.6 miles, following the road as it curves, to the gate at the end of the road. Parking is along the road in the community neighborhood. Please do not block any driveways.

Darlin Creek is always open to the public, in case you cannot join us for this field trip.
