Monroe Swift Night Out

Monroe Swift Night Out celebrates the arrival of one of the largest congregations of Vaux’s Swifts in North America. Thousands of these small birds squeeze themselves into a 31-foot fall, four-foot square chimney at Monroe’s Wagner Center in just minutes. As many as 26,000 swifts were observed entering this chimney in one evening in September, 2010.
There are booths with informative displays and nature items for both adults and children. Docents will be present to answer questions.
