Come join us for Black Hills Audubon Society’s Annual Picnic. Meet us at Priest Point Park at the Rose Garden Shelter at 5 p.m. We are talking with some birding by ear experts and hope to start the picnic with a birding by ear experience for everyone. After a short introduction by the experts about what they enjoy about birding by ear and some of their most memorable experiences, the tentative plan is to break up into small groups, each led by one or more experts. The groups go in separate directions for an hour of birding by ear. The idea is for members of each group, except the leader, to mostly stay silent during the walk. At the end of the hour members of each group talk with the leader about what they liked about the experience. All groups return to the picnic area by 6:30 p.m. for dinner and a socializing.
Black Hills Audubon Society will provide wrap sandwiches, potato chips, and juice, as well as, paper plates, napkins, and serving utensils.
Bring a side dish to share with the group such as salad, hors d’oeuvre, dessert, or bread.
Bring your own place setting, if you can.
